HOW TO FIND US

By London Transport

Underground Train:

The Vihara is located about 100 metres from the underground station
Turnham Green on District Line.
Coming out of the station, turn right and pass the two mini roundabouts.
The Vihara is on the left on The Avenue a short distance away.

Bus

The bus E3 from Chiswick to Greenford goes along The Avenue.
The bus stop is very close to the Vihara.
The following buses run on Chiswick High Road:190, 237,267,272,391

Car Parking

Parking restrictions are in force on The Avenue between 8 am and 6.30 pm,
Monday to Saturday.
Pay and Display parking is available on the side streets: eg Bedford Road
Parking charges apply between 9.00 am and 6.00 pm, Monday to Friday.

 

 

Dress Code when visiting London Buddhist Vihara

Everyone

PLEASE DRESS MODESTLY!

• Devotees and Visitors are advised to wear decent clothing to cover the body appropriately when visiting the Temple. Exposed shoulders, sleeveless tops and shorts are considered inappropriate and disrespectful.

• Visitors should remove hats, caps, shoes and slippers when entering the Shrine Room

• It is disrespectful to take photographs directly in front, with back to the Buddha Statue.

Recommended Attire for Ladies

Ladies are kindly requested to dress modestly with comfortable but appropriate clothing, when visiting the Vihara.
In Theravada tradition, black clothes are not considered appropriate in a shrine room.

Revealing clothes such as short skirts, hipsters, tight tops and plunging neck-lines are considered unsuitable and disrespectful.

Dignified dressing is very much a part of the spiritual practice!
